Miss Crafty Pants Monday

I havent really done any crafts this week because I've been so busy, but I did manage to make a cute headband holder for Little Miss. I just took an old oatmeal can and covered it with scrapbook paper. Thats all....and came up with...

So easy and now her headbands are all nice and organized. Since I don't really have any crafts to share I thought I would share how I write my grocery list. Yawn yes, but it does save me ALOT of time so you might like it. I do my meal planning on Sunday and grocery shop on Monday afternoons. I write out all my meals and then go through and write down what I need. I do all this on the computer. I dont have a printer though so the next part I just write on a piece of paper. I divide my paper up into parts of the store. Then I go through my list and divide up my foods into the right section. When I go to the store I never forget something in a certain section because it was all listed together.. I you have a printer you could make yourself a template and save it...easy to fill out.

I also started a donation basket. I found myself finding all these things I wanted to donate and they either stayed in my closet because I didnt want to clutter up the house and I didnt think I had enough to take at the time. I cleaned out my hall closet this morning, and for some reason it dawned on me to just start putting everything into a laundry basket. When the basket is full, its time to donate! \

Next week I have some fun things to show you.... Have a great week!

6 months!

Little Miss turned 6 months old yesterday! I cannot believe how the time is flying with this little girl. I'm guessing it has something to do with having two kids and being so busy, but it really does seem like just yesterday she was a tiny, quiet little thing and now she is sitting in high chairs and talking. Boo.
On the kids half birthdays I always make half of a cake for us to celebrate. I think its a silly little tradition, and a great excuse to eat cake. On their first half birthdays we have the grandparents over to eat, a good excuse to hang out! Yesterday we had a busy day, setting up at the Pumpkin Farm for my school, and Uncle J had a race at night, so we stuck our celebration right in the middle of the day! It was perfect though, because Little Miss is my lunch break baby, born at 12:01, a minute late I always say.

Little Miss at 6 months you:
-can sit up all by yourself
-eat lots of different veggies, avacados are your favorite
-hate applesauce
-love your Bumbo, and love to look at yourself in the mirror at all the cute headbands you wear
-love to sing and dance, any time you hear music you sing!!!!
-love your brother more than anyone (he is very protective of you)
-can make anyone smile, grumpy old men and women, teenagers, little kids, everyone loves you!
-still have crazy hair! People always make comments about your hair...
Here are some pictures of Little Miss' celebration yesterday. Happy Half Birthday my sweet little girl.

He'll Do It Again

In the afternoons the kids and I always listen to Gospel music. They LOVE to sing, Little Miss yells at the top of her lungs, kicks her feet and waves her arms any time she hears music. It's a little distracting at church. And Mister loves to get down with his big bad self, which I'm not really sure you can do to gospel music, but I let him think it, for now anyways.
Our favorite song right now is He'll Do It Again. My friend has a BEAUTIFUL voice and I love it when she sings this for specials at church on Sunday. But she doesnt live with us, and she would probably think its a little weird if I called her and asked her to sing it to us in the afternoon, so I found a version I love on You Tube.
I love the words to the song, love the music, love it all. I posted the lyrics below and the link to the You Tube version I love. I hope you love the message/music as much as we do!
He'll Do It Again link

He'll Do It Again
You may be down and feel God has somehow forgotten
You are faced with circumstances
That you can't get through
Tonight it just seems there's now way out
In natural you could just go under
But God has proven time and time again
He'll take care of you

He'll do it again
He'll do it again
You just take a look where you are now
And where you've been
He'll see hasn't He always come through
For you
He's the same God has always been
You may not know how,
You may not know when
But He'll do it again

He knows the things that you're going through
He knows how you're hurting
He's been there and
He understands how your heart
Has been broken in two
He's the God of the stars
The sun and the seas
That God is your Father
Tonight He can calm the storm
And He'll find some way to fix this for you

He'll do it again
He'll do it again
You just take a look where you are now
And where you've been
He'll see hasn't He always come through
For you
He's the same God has always been
You may not know how,
You may not know when
But He'll do it again

Miss Crafty Pants Monday:football and Sesame Street

Not a whole lot of crafts going on around here, we have been busy! My grandparents were here visiting, I had Back To School Night and Mister has been cutting his two year old molars and has been a cranky, feverish mess! I did get some fun football crafts done right before my Grandma came, so I thought I would share them.

First I made this cute Roll Tide headband for Little Miss. She has her little Alabama onesie and she just needed a cute headband to match! I just hot glued flowers and little feathers and a football, and it turned out so cute!
I also made my Grandma and I these Roll Tide footballs. I bought a little wooden plaque at Walmart and spraypainted it brown. Then I just added some puff paint, ribbon and scrapbooking stickers. I bent an old clothes hanger and stapled it to the back and it was done! It looks really cute on my front door. I got the idea off of Pinterest and I almost like mine more than the version I saw.. :)

Finally I just had to share this cute snack. Its supposed to be Grover but it didn't turn out as cute as I hoped. I think that if I had of used a different colored plate it would have looked better. All I used was blueberries, strawberries, vanilla yogurt and raisins. Mister loves Grover so this was a cute snack.
This is my long week at work, three days not two so I am not sure how many fun crafts I will have to share for next week. I am helping make the display for our school at the pumpkin farm and its Little Miss' half birthday next Saturday so I will share those pics next week. Happy Monday!

Miss Crafty Pants Monday: homeade finger paint and some fall fun!

We've been doing alot of fun crafty things around here this last week! I love fall, it is my favorite season and so I have already whipped out the fall decorations! I'm almost done with the outside and the inside is done! Now if only the weird weather would cooperate! I cant wait to start some fall crafts with the kiddos! This last week I made homeade finger paint. You can find the recipe here. I'm not going to lie, it smelled kind of weird. I really, really didnt care for the smell...but as you can see from the picture below it got the job done and Mister had a great time! He had such a great time he even finger painted the sunflowers on the table...

I liked the recipe because I had everything on hand and so it was cheap and a fun treat for Mister! Here is the masterpiece hanging on the wall!
My sister and law and I got together for a craft night and made these super cute jars below!
I made these cute thanks jars and she made ghosts...All I did was spray paint some old Izzy soda bottles with brown spray paint. Then I just hot glued some scrapbooking stickers and I had some fun jars! I added wheat that I had leftover from our wedding. It makes me smile every time I see it and reminds me of that fun day! I did have the jars outside but I moved them in so the wind wouldnt hurt them!
They look just as cute in the dining room as well!
Here is a picture of my fun fall mantle.
Fun jack o lantern candle holders.... with my yummy mulled cider candles.
Fall books on display! I have so many fall/halloween books its not even funny! I replaced all the books in the living room and this shelf! So there are a few little glimpses of fall around here! I'll show more as I craft more fun fall things!
Game day outfit! The first real game of the season so Little Miss got to get all decked out! Poor Cowboy's decided to blow it in the end, but we had alot of fun with our friends and family! Football is back!
I made these deviled egg footballs, they turned out pretty cute!
Chocolate dipped strawberries that I tried to make look like footballs. The store closest to our house didnt have the skinny icing tubes and I didnt want to drive thirty minutes just for icing, so I made due. I started making them with a toothpick but that got old really fast, so I left some just dipped. Kind of bugged me, but I decided to let it go because they are only chocolate dipped strawberries. Happy fall friends!

Crockpot Wednesday:No Fuss Chicken

Happy Wednesday! Arent you glad it's the middle of the week? Me too! I'm just so excited for fall to be here that I just want to get through this hot weather so we can have some fall fun! I already started decorating for fall, much to Hubcaps shagrin. But its fall at Starbucks and its September which to me gives me full liberty to start! Since I started decorating for fall which drove Hubcap crazy I decided to make his favorite food this week. I wish I could say that his favorite meal is one that only I can make "just right". This is not the case. In fact, our two year old could make this for him, thats how easy this is! I will give him this, it is GOOD. So heres the recipe for No Fuss Chicken.
Here's what you need:
1 can of cream of mushroom, 1 can of cream of chicken, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 3-4 chicken breasts.

In a bowl mix together your two cans of soup. I always add a little bit of pepper as well. Place chicken breasts into your crockpot and pour soup over chicken. Cook on High for 3-4 hrs or Low for 5-6. My crockpot tends to cook hot so I cook mine on Low for 4 hrs and its perfect... About a half hour before eating shred the chicken and stir in your half cup of sour cream. Thats it! Mister could make it right? We eat ours over mashed potatoes and its really yummy!
Heres a note: This is not a "pretty" dish. It's really bland looking, but I promise its full of flavor. You could sprinkle some parsley on it maybe to brighten it up?!?!?
And just for kicks and giggles here is a picture of my Little Miss eating carrots for the first time. She loved them, as you can tell.

Happy Wednesday friends!
