Christmas Traditions

What a whirlwind of a Christmas season it has been! Our days have been packed full of fun... we were able to carry on some regular traditions and start some new ones as well. Heres a peek at our last month... 

Our annual North Pole Breakfast. We did this the weekend after Thanksgiving. The silly elves came back and decorated the dining room and made the kiddos breakfast. (elf size pancake kabobs, hot chocolate, candy cane yogurt and fruit parfaits) They also brought new ornaments for the tree and a special box straight from the North Pole. In it was new Christmas shirts and tickets to go see Frozen! The kiddos loved it! 

We went to our favorite Christmas tree farm up the street from us and picked out a beautiful tree. The kiddos got to see the baby animals and of course got a candy cane! 

This year we had a Grinch dinner. My kiddos love the Grinch movie so I thought this would be fun. We had Roast Beast, Who Pudding, Who Hash and Grinch Kabobs... then we watched the movie. It was so much fun! 

I was also able to start a new tradition with my oldest girly. We went to the Nutcracker Ballet for the first time. She loved it of course. She loved the Mean Mouse King and the ballerinas. Can't wait until Baby Sis can join us as well. 

The kiddos got to decorate their tree. 

This year we suprised the kiddos with a Polar Express night. After they went to bed the Hubs rang a bell outside their door and called All Aboard!! They came out of their rooms of course and were given tickets to ride on the Polar Express. We had made them a train out of cardboard boxes the night before and they got to watch the movie in the train. We were going to do hot chocolate as well but they had had enough sugar after decorating cookies for Misters Preschool Party. 

And last but not least my favorite new tradition was Mister's First School Performance! Seriously it was the cutest thing ever..and this kid?!? Oh yes cutest ever! 

We still have a week until Christmas which will include the church play, looking at Christmas Lights, Fairy Tale Town at night, Happy Birthday Jesus Cake and more. It really is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. 

It's Beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas...

 Well my Christmas decorating is finished for the season. I kept it very simple this year.. and maybe contained it to my dining room. Of course we have stocking hung from the fireplace and the kiddos have their tree as well in the front room. Well the kitchen counter if we are being technical... too many curious little hands and only one mama! Heres a peek at our very simple decorating this year. 

The kiddos tree... it makes me laugh so hard. I let them completely handle it... oh my goodness. So funny.  

The Hubcap made me the sweetest manger scene. And this sweet Christmas tree. I LOVE it!!

November

November is here! So, so happy for Thanksgiving season. It is my favorite holiday, something about the simplicity of it all. This month the Hubcap and I are going to do a service project a day with the kids. Hardest thing for me as a parent is that I want to give them the world  but also have a heart for the world. I so want to grow their little hearts into grateful ones... that think of others first! So far we have picked up trash from at the park, drew pictures for an elderly friend and helped load up big empty water bottles into Papa's truck. I decorated for Thanksgiving yesterday... here are some snapshots of my dining room.

 Happy November from my Pilgrim, Little Turkey and Indian! 

A little bit of life...

So I have pretty much been the worst blogger ever. Today I knew I needed to at least upload some pictures so that I can still have a memory of this BUSY time... We have been going, going going and trying to keep a house clean, organized and functioning with three tinies is alot of work. But here is our life lately in a nutshell... just add a lot of cleaning of offices and churches, tutoring, art/cooking class, preschool and hunting season.

Hollywood with a touch of twang... oh this girl. So, so so fiesty. And sweet. Has to be wearing her sunglasses at all times. Even when she sleeps at night she wears them. And IF she has to wear pants she will scream for days if they touch her shoes. And her hair has to be in a bun or buns. So girly this one. All of her baby dolls names are Googy Anadore. Not really sure on that one...  

We went on vacation to San Diego and this little one loved the beach. She loved the sand and chasing the seagulls. Oh I love my peanut. 

So glad that I got a picture of Mister in his Curious George goes to the Beach shirt. He LOVES the beach.. we ran around and played soccer and monkey in the middle and we built a mermaid and a snowman out of sand. He cried when we left. 

My Little Bo Peep and Sheep. Really I thought they couldn't get cuter and then they pulled this on me. But seriously, right?!?! 

The girlies play in their kitchen all day. It is so cute. Little Miss insisted that they wear their matching aprons. So cute. 

And Sis turned 7 months... like about 7 months ago. She weighs 7 pounds. Crawls and stands. Says Mama and Dada. Waves when she wants. Is as sweet and laid back as can be. Chooses when she laughs but  is smiling almost always.  Loves her mama soooo much. Never ever sleeps. Never ever. Loves to follow the older two around.  And then come back to mama. To know her is to love her!!! 

The girls Trick or Treat Bags. I was going to do a tutorial but really... I have no time.  Ha! But just go google no sew ruffle and there you have it. I love them!!! 

 Our trip to the Apple Farm. Such a fun day. Love my "pod". Love my life. Blessed beyond measure.

Minnie Mouse Mobile

So awhile back I saw on Pinterest a picture of a Minnie Mouse mobile. So in no way shape or form is this my idea, but I thought I would share how we made ours just because I could only find pictures..not tutorials. 

I think the hardest part about this project was finding a cozy coupe that did not have eyes!!! All the new models have eyes and I just really didn't want that. So after about 4 months I found one for $5 and I snatched it up. 

First we taped the little car up dividing it into two parts. We spray painted the bottom half white using a plastic, kid friendly spray paint. While it was drying I cut out circles using painters tape and when it was done drying I added the circles wherever I wanted along the bottom. Next came the coat of red spray paint over the white... After that had dried we covered the bottom half with old towels and spray painted the top half black. 

My husband cut two circles out of a piece of plywood and the a bow shape. We spray painted both and he nail gunned them together.Then he screwed brackets into the top of the car and then bracketed the ears in. I added the white dots and voila! A Minnie Mouse Mobile! So easy and cheap and so much cuter than a regular old car...and Little Miss loves it! 

Fall Firsts...

We've had quite a few of our fall firsts around these parts...Little Miss got her first car, first trips to the Pumpkin Farm for the season, first fall crafts and treats and first fall hikes. And of course for Little Sis all of these are her VERY first. Love this time of year! Happy fall y'all!
