Meal Plan Monday (on a Wednesday)

So every once in awhile I do Meal Plan Monday, mainly because most of the time I'm too lazy to post it but this week I'm not lazy, just late. Sooo.... usually I have a specific meal for a specific night but summer is different. In summer I still have specific meals planned but I decide the day of which meal I'm going to make according to our plans.
So here is a list of our meals this week:

fried fish and  veggie fried rice

BBQ pork chops smothered with sauteed peppers, mushrooms and onions, Greek Quinoa salad, grilled corn on the cob

Black bean Chicken Tacos

Turkey Meatballs with pasta, Roasted Veggies

Pasta salad with Roasted veggies, turkey sandwiches

Lettuce wraps

Pork Stir fry

For lunch we always eat leftovers or turkey or veggie sandwiches

For breakfast the kids usually eat granola and yogurt with scrambled eggs and fruit and I eat a half a bagel and cream cheese with a smoothie and COFFEE

I also quit buying boxed snacks completely because they are just too darn expensive.. I started this months ago and I love it. I will admit I do buy graham crackers because honestly I use them in public to make baby sister quiet. True Story.  Other than that the kiddos eat for snack:
apple sauce, fresh fruit, yogurt, Outshine Popsicles, smoothies, string cheese, veggies with hummus

Also I thought I would share what I put in my go to smoothie recipe

handful of spinach
handful of kale
handful of walnuts
blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries
juice from an orange
banana
peach
strawberry yogurt
dash of water
ice

Blend it together and yum! The kiddos love it too which is great!

So that is our week of eating in a nutshell... if anyone has any fun new recipes they would like to send my way please do!!

4th of July

We had our best 4th of July to date! I love the 4th and so do the kiddos and it's always a treat to have the Hubcap home for more than one day at a time this time of year! The Hubcap wanted to stay home this year since he is rarely home.  This year we:

took cute pictures

decorated the porch

I painted Little Miss's fingers and toes and she stole my phone and took a million pictures of them

My USA fruit pizza

star hair

We participated in our little towns 4th of July parade for the first time! It was so cute and fun!! The big kiddos and I worked all Thurs morning and afternoon to decorate their rigs and they turned out awesome.

We went to the water park in town for a few hours, went and got frozen yogurt and then came home and had so much fun outside! Water balloons, chalk. silly string, stickers, baseball, water guns and water balls.

Cutest girls in their Red, White and Blue..

While dinner was grilling I painted the kiddos faces..

Playing baseball, Mister is really good at baseball. And I'm not saying that because he's my kid. Well kind of, but seriously he's actually great. He can hit that ball out of the park! He always turns and says after he whacks it, "Im amazing at this baseball stuff."

We put the baby down for bed and then busted out some decorated ice cream cones..

and all of our glow sticks, glow necklaces and wands..

and had our own little fireworks show. Such a great, great, great day with my favorite people. Love my little family and proud to be an American!

San Diego

The kiddos and I got to spend 2 weeks in San Diego with my parents. We had a blast! Of course the one thing I forgot was my camera, so all my pictures had to be taken with my phone. Bummer. Here are some highlights from our trip.

The crazy kid lady and all her baggage! (not pictures was the other huge suitcase!)

Papa Red telling Mister the ropes of boogie boarding..
My little surfer dude! He LOVED boogie boarding and says it's his new favorite thing! And he was actually really good!

 All ready for Sea World!

We got to go back stage at the penguin exhibit and meet the penguins!! SO awesome!

Not pictured was the concert in the park, lot's of baseball playing, ice cream shop outings and craft time at Lakeshore, Sea Port Village and Old Town San Diego. We loved it so much we are taking Daddy back for a week in a few weeks!!! Watch out San Diego we are coming back for you!
