Big Chief and Sacajawea

Since My Little Miss fell the other day on my inlaw's fireplace and had to get stitches I have been calling her my warrior princess. She was born with feathery hair and loves to be outside, so I think she is just channeling her inner Sacajawea.
I made her this cute little headband last week. Very cute. The other day we found some great leaves and sticks at one of our outings to the park. I decided we should make something out of them...so in honor of my little warrior we made Indian head dresses and War Sticks.
Heres what you need:

brown bag, paint, paint brushes, sticks and good leaves.

Then all you have to do is paint them!! I know, seriously difficult right??!?!? Heres Mister's...

Here is my feather..

and my War Stick.
Little Miss painted hers after Mister. I think its a lot smoother to have them paint at separate times. My wood floors appreciate it too!
Then I just cut strips out of the brown bag, measured it to fit their heads and taped on the leaves!!

Here are my little warriors!! Oh how I love them. They are too, too cute!!

I told you she was a Warrior Princess!!!
My best attempt to get a picture with them via me taking the pic. They were so much more into the sticks. Who would of thought?!?!
When daddy got home tonight we had a Indian picnic and he took our picture. Here we are.
I'm off to go grind some acorns and skin a deer now. Or eat cookies and ice cream and watch Chopped. Whatever.  Have a great day!

Weekend Recap and Fun Craft

We had a very fun, hard worked weekend!!
We wore silly hats...

Took pictures with Mommy...

Ate crackers..

Caught frogs...
Really big frogs...

Helped daddy put in flower beds..

Talked on our phones..

And acted silly in our new pajamas!!

Hubcap and I worked in the yards almost all Saturday and Sunday! Here is my potting bench all ready for Spring! Don't you love the chalkboard pots?!?!

All my pansies, marigolds and violas...my holly hocks will bloom soon hopefully!

I can't wait for my hydrangea's to bloom!! I have three in my front bed!!

Flowers...

My back porch! This weekend we put in a garden bed and bark and got our side yard ready for a brick patio!

Here it is! Kind of small, but it's beautiful!

The freesia smells amazing!!

I am going to go out on a limb and say the back yard is looking pretty good considering when Hubcap bought the house it was nothing but dirt!!! This week I am working on some projects for the Kid's Play Area and this next weekend we will put it all together. Then this summer hopefully we will get to lay our brick patio in the side yard!

Here we are working hard!!
Friday it rained so the kiddo's and I made an art project.

Mister and I made this little black rain cloud.

And Little Miss and I made this sunshine and rainbow. It was perfect because all day we saw black rain clouds and then the day ended with sunshine and two full double rainbows!!!
For the black rain cloud we used fishing line and blue and black construction paper and for the sunshine we used streamers and yellow paper! And googly eyes for both!
Happy Monday!

Alphabet bunting....

Happy Wednesday! The rainy weather around here has forced me to stay inside and organize...something I have been avoiding when the sun has been out. So with the rain Spring Cleaning has struck! Yesterday I finally got around to organizing one half of my kitchen cabinets. Hubcap got done finishing them a couple of weeks ago for Little Miss' birthday party, and yesterday I turned the top half into my craft cupboards. I got all of mine and the kids stuff organized! Today I am organizing all their toys and clothes and then hopefully tomorrow the sun will be out  and we can go back outside!
Here is a picture of the finished cupboards. I love them!!!
Last night I wanted to do something crafty after cleaning all day, so I made this cutest burlap ABC bunting banner for the kids learning area!

All I used was burlap, some coral and turquoise scrapbook paper and some gold glitter letters. Then I just cut and hot glued! Easy! I had some great ideas about felt and huge cardboard sparkley letters , but when I got to Michaels they didnt have what I was looking for. But when you drive into town, sometimes in Kindergarten terms you Get What You Get And You Dont Throw A Fit.

I am going to add a number line above it with a scalloped bunting I think and then maybe add some pom pom ribbon to the top to cover up the imperfections.
All right I am off to guzzle some coffee to get my day going! My lovelies have been awake since 5:30ish... I guess they knew I had alot to do today.

Here is a picture of the other half of the kitchen, which Michael remodeled in January. I LOVE my kitchen!                            And my Hubcap who worked so hard to make it beautiful for me!

Miss Crafty Pants Monday: Easter chick and bunny place settings...

Happy Easter Week! We have been enjoying the sunshine in our neck of the woods! We have spent our days outside planting flowers, playing soccer/baseball, going bike riding, and eating dirt. The kids, not me. This morning while Little Miss took her nap, Mister and I whipped up some cute little table settings for our Easter dinner. I wanted something we could make with materials we already had, so this is what I came up with. Super easy and super kid friendly. If you are going fancy Easter meal, these are not for you...:)
First these cute little chicks. We traced Mister's hand's on yellow paper, cut them out and glued them to yellow ovals. Then we cut orange strips of paper, I folded them accordion style and added little feet. Mister colored little eyes and we added tiny orange triangles for the beak! Done! So cute!!
Next we made these cutest bunnies.
I just cut out a bunny shape from white paper and Mister covered it in cotton balls. Then I had some little pom poms so we added those for the nose and eyes. I love this project because Mister could literally do it almost all by himself! I will have to add the names separately next to these for the place setting though. Maybe on Easter eggs??

Here is my cutest little man at work.

Well we are off to enjoy the sunshine! Happy Wednesday!
